We had always wanted to know what the Zig Zag Railway was all about, but it was always too far away. At last we got our chance.
From the website I had expected it to wind through some steep mountain pass and thick forest, but it actually zig-zagged down the side of a mountain quite in the open. There was a tunnel too, which felt quite strange as the train was unlit and the smoke from the steam engine came in the windows. The whole line is now completely run by volunteers!
